Reality sinks in

Quinn still wasn't sure if what he had heard uttured from the mouth of the Queen had been truth or some sort of twisted facade. There was no way that Lazarus was still alive, Quinn had driving his sword through the man's heart, he had seen the life leave his eyes. Yet there in that private chamber it seemed that the ghosts of his past where coming back to haunt him.

Quinn was obviously more then a little skeptical at first, but she showed him that ring there was no doubt that Lazarus was back as much as he wanted to deny the reality that was slowly slamming into him. The ring was at first appearance a simply band of gold, an intricate designed into it's surface. It was that design that drew all the color from his face when he laid eyes upon it. That design was more then a mere decoration, it was a symbol that reacted to only one thing, the magical and spiritual of the man that wore it. Quinn had buried the ring with Lazarus, the ring had been blank, it's master devoid of life. And there it had been, in the soft cupped of the Queen ringing with the living magic of it's once dead master. "I found it on her bed." she said as she looked up at Quinn with pleading eyes. "I will find her, I will stop him I promise you." Quinn said as he placed his hand gently on her shoulder.

That had been over an hour ago, Quinn had been wandering around the city, his mind in a hurried haze of the implication that the ring meant. It meant Lazarus Santos was back from the dead, but how? Not even Quinn who had walked upon this earth for near half a millennium could cheat death, it was a debt that all had to pay. How had Lazarus done it? What did he want with the young princess? This were only a few of the questions that swam through his head. It was Stacy's voice that finally broke his trance of thought.

"Quinn, I gave your space hoping that you would snap of it on your own but it seems that you are hell bent in burning a hole into that bar." She said as she pawed over to his field of vision. "Do you even realize where you are?" she asked, the concern obvious in her voice. Quinn blinked, and even went as far to blush slightly, since he had indeed walked into a bar and not even realized that he had done so. His eyes began to slowly wander to his surroundings, looking at the other patrons and the seat and which he had been seating. The place resembled an old world Irish pub, and judging from the view that came in from the window, the stream of beautifully dressed women that came and went from inside one of the largest brothels in the city he instantly figured out where he was. "Killigan's" he laughed, as he ran his fingers through Stacy's soft black fur. "Even when I'm deep in thought I end up walking into this place." He laughed as he reached into his jacket pocket to remove one of the small cigarrettes that he kept there. Lighting one, he took a long drag enjoying the sting that came from smoking and turned to look at Stacy. "Thanks for pulling me out of my funk my little kitty." he said with a laugh.

"Who else would feed me every morning if not master?" she giggled, and then stood staring at him quietly for a few minutes. Quinn could not help but cock an eyebrow at her silent stare, it was obvious that she was deep in thought. After a few moments she finally spoke. "So who is this Lazarus guy that you're freaking out about." Quinn smiled as he took another long drag of his cigarette. "I'm surprised that it took you this long to ask that." he said with a sigh.

"His name is Lazarus BlackWater, he was my predecessor as the High Wizard for the Royal Family. I was his apprentice at the time when he served as High Wizard. He became obsessed with finding the secret to real immortality." Quinn began to say. "Real Immortality? What's that supposed to mean?" Quinn smiled at Stacy's question, "You should realize that even for creatures like you and me, who are called immortals by mortals are far from everlasting. A succubus can be killed." Quinn said pausing in thought for a moment. "And death will come for me one day." Quinn added. A realization his the female cat's face like a ton of bricks. "You mean he wants to find the Creation Codex."

"And he was convinced that he had found them." Quinn said
